Crossbreeding: Millardet et Grasset 101-14 (Riparia x Rupestris) and Goldriesling
Description
This blue grape variety has a fresh taste, high acidity and the very unusual property that even the flesh is red, which produces wines with a deep red color.
Harvesting
The bunches are small and dense, which gives rise to mold attacks, but is helped somewhat by the fact that the skin is on the thicker side. The grapes are small and the harvest is medium to good in a good year.
Cultivation site
This grape variety requires planting in a well-planned location with good conditions and in slightly warmed soils; avoid high clay content which is usually colder.
The wines
Light to medium bodied, works equally well as a Noveau wine or a more robust oak-aged wine. Well suited for making still red wines, rosé wines and for use in blends for sparkling wines.
Resistance
Powdery mildew: medium to high
Leaf mold: high
Botrytis: high
